Despite a year that saw Reddit come under scrutiny for it’s lack of content regulation, the reader contributed news site and forum saw considerable growth in 2014 boasting a staggering 71.25bn page views, the Reddit blog announced on Friday.
In 2014 reddit had:
- 71.25 billion pageviews
- Over 8 thousand active communities
- 54.9 million posts and submissions
- 535 million comments
- 3.73 billion link votes
- 2.01 billion comment votes
- 886,745 reddit live updates posted
Views were boosted by over 8,000 active online communities and over 500m comments. – How many of those view’s were boosted by ‘The Fappening‘ incident, when the site became a ‘hub’ for unlawfully shared content of celebrities, is anyone’s guess. However, with content like The real reason the Selfie Stick was invented… #TRexSelfies (uploaded by our own web developer, Ross Hammond), the website will continue to go from strength to strength.
